You don't go to Palm Springs in the summer unless you're building a golf course - Arnold Palmer

[COMMENT]I have got to say big kudos to KABC. Wednesday I heard a report on Brian Stow who was sucker punched at Dodger Stadium 3 years ago and is now disabled. KABC in their report said that his injuries were the result of a fight. I tweeted and posted on facebook that it was not a fight and that they should fix that. One hour later I got a reply to my tweet that said "Adjusting that now... thanks for the catch.". I think that is huge that they realized a mistake and fixed it. Bravo KABC and McIntyre in the Morning.

FBN To Debut 'Making Money with Charles Payne' June 2. Charles has been on with Bill Handel in a regular segment for a long time. He always offers smart advice and I know this will be a good show.

The one of hardest working employees at KFI in my opinion is Michael Crozier. He's also been there longer than anyone. They finally let him host a show. This last week he did the Sunday Morning News, which I did not hear, but I'm sure he did a great job.

Speaking of KFI, check this out. Posted by Terri-Rae on her facebook page. Pic first year at KFI-Terri and the Groz. — with Terri-Rae Elmer and Dave Grosby. I don't remember Dave.

I listened this week to KABC account executive Bob Weiss who's daughter was killed in Santa Barbara, he was on with Doug and Terry-Rae. A very tough thing to listen to. A photo of his daughter Veronica and audio of that call is posted on Radio Ink.

Philly AM fined for after-hours output.
The FCC is showing its power to fine — against a Philadelphia market station that exceeded its power authorization. A $6,000 penalty has been proposed against Real Life Broadcasting’s brokered WIFI, Florence, NJ (1460). The Enforcement Bureau says on two nights in June 2012 it failed to cut its daytime 5,250-watt signal down to 540-watts at sunset.
Well thank god for the FCC protecting us against this kind of brutal abuse of the frequency band. This is your government!

Daryl Parks, who as a Clear Channel corporate PD back in October of 2013, spoke his mind about the FCC's plan to revitalize the AM band. He called the plan a joke.

[BOOK]This week on what Dennis Prager calls The History Hour, he interviewed Kevin Cook. I have never heard about this story till now.

Catherine Susan "Kitty" Genovese (July 7, 1935 – March 13, 1964) was a New York City woman who was stabbed to death near her home in the Kew Gardens neighborhood of the borough of Queens in New York City, on March 13, 1964, by Winston Moseley.

Two weeks after the murder, a newspaper article reported the circumstances of her murder and the lack of reaction from numerous neighbors. The common portrayal of her neighbors as being fully aware but completely unresponsive has since been criticized as inaccurate. Nonetheless, it prompted investigation into the social psychological phenomenon that has become known as the bystander effect or "Genovese syndrome" and especially diffusion of responsibility.

Podcast shows still seem kind of new but they have been around for years now. This week Marc Maron does his 500th show. On it he talks about the show and how it has effected his life and plays some pertinent clips. Doing 500 shows is no small task and I applaud Marc. It's always enjoyable and interesting and it's a landmark in this new medium. Marc will always be known as being there in the beginning. He's left a mark. Also this week a show with Vince Vaughn.

[CLASSIC RADIO]I don't usually put up a radio that you can buy but this is amazing. Sears has the Dual Alarm AM/FM Clock Radio for $4.99 (reg. $19.99)…. it lets you wake to an AM-FM Radio or buzzer, and has retro styling. You can set up 2 alarms, each each with different times. AND you can play your iPod or other Audio device with a headphone jack (not included).
