The Plane! The Plane!

[COMMENT]Wild and woolly week starting with an earthquake, then more news about the missing plane or not more news, what a weird story. Everyone I listened to this week did a great job covering all these big stories. General Tom McInerney on Hannity was probably the most compelling. He said that he thought the plane was in Pakistan. Very interesting interview. Bryan Suits had a 777 pilot on that was fascinating and corrected a lot of misinformation that the main stream media was reporting, what a shock.

Wednesday I turn on KABC wanting to hear Mark Levin at 6pm and I get a live show with Gillian and John, The KABC Talk Stars contest. Ahhh baboo is all I can say. Unlistenable. Is this a lame farm team idea for new hosts instead of actually spending money on someone interesting? Well Peter Tilden was one of the judges so that tells you all you need to know. Bad idea, badly executed. Thankfully there is the Dennis Miller Show on KRLA. And then at 8 KABC puts Mark Levin back on. I need to lay down.

This week it was shocking to hear Hugh Hewitt say that people that run law schools should not run anything and that law schools brain wash students into to state-ists. Hugh is a law professor at Chapman Law School. He didn't say if this opinion included Chapman or not. I have never heard anyone say this about law schools. Eye opening.

And what is the deal with the last 1/2 hour of Hannity's show? He talks to his staff about nothing, just an inane BS session. It's bad enough that at the beginning of the show he talks for 45 minutes. I would rather hear a guest. I have listened to Sean for years and I like him but content is what I want!

[RADIO]This week sadly a guest that was on with Art Bell dozens of times, Dr. Roger Leir has died.

From his website

It has been said that Dr. Leir is one of the world’s most important leaders in physical evidence research involving the field of Ufology. He and his surgical team have performed fifteen surgeries on alleged alien abductees. This resulted in the removal of sixteen separate and distinct objects suspected of being alien implants. These objects have been scientifically investigated by some of the most prestigious laboratories in the world including Los Alamos National Labs, New Mexico Tech, Seal Laboratories, Southwest Labs, the University of Toronto, York University, and the University of California at San Diego. Their findings have been baffling and some comparisons have been made to Meteorite Samples. In addition some of the tests show metallurgical anomalies such as highly Magnetic Iron that is without crystalline form, combinations of crystalline materials mixed common metals, growth of biological tissue into or out of metallic substances, as well as isotopic ratios not of this world. Dr. Leir has also been involved in investigations of other areas of Ufology involving physical evidence. He has traveled to Brazil and performed exhaustive research into the Varginha, Brazil case. In 2003 Dr. Leir worked with one of the worlds leading geneticists and the National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDS) on a DNA study pertaining to evidence collected in a famous California Alien Abduction Case. Dr. Leir was a recent participant (NOV. 2007) in an international press conference held at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. Evidence from thirteen Military officers, pertaining to their experiences with UFO’s was presented to a worldwide media. Dr. Leir is a Podiatric Surgeon, who has been in private practice in Ventura County, California, for the past 43 years.

Whatever you think of the UFO field and the alien abduction phenomenon, one thing you can definitely say about Roger Leir is that he was an extremely careful and logical person. Very articulate and serious about his work. All the interviews I have ever heard him do with Art, he was very convincing and left no stone unturned. He really thought these objects were foreign and helped people get them out of there bodies. He analysed them with astounding results. Extremely compelling person, he will be very missed.

October 21, 2013 - 3 hour show.

And more........

Thanks to prolific reader KABC host Doug McIntyre, I bought a used copy of a book he loves called Harpo Speaks. I love Harpo Marx but know nothing about him, can't wait to read it, only cost me $5.

Lots of old 97.1 people gravitating to KABC. I heard John and Jeff sitting in for Larry Elder this week. Not a bad show. Not sure where they are and what they are doing.

Bryan Suits was saying that debris from this missing plane can be mistaken for ocean containers that have fallen off ships. He has a friend that works on a container ship and says that these floating containers are everywhere and they appear as a pyramid in the water because they are mostly underwater and titled. Bryan's show is becoming a real must hear, great guests and smart commentary.

Thursday Hugh Hewitt talked about college basketball. I guess his show is not a sports talk show, was today. He's constantly making jokes about how Harvard is going to win everything. I guess one would have to have gone to an ivy league school to relate. He's killing him.

'Fresh Air' Remembers Comedian David Brenner

Fred Allen death anniversary was this week. Fred Allen was an American comedian whose absurdist, topically pointed radio show made him one of the most popular and forward-looking humorists in the Golden Age of American radio. Here he is in this must see piece of video from 1952, Fred died in 1956. NBC sure knew how to do cross promotion. Fred Allen was a huge star in 1952, and he was perfect to promote a new type of program. A TV news/entertainment show that started at 7 am was unheard of in 1952. Dave Garroway was the first host of the TODAY show, and this skit was seen 8 days before the TODAY show premieres, in order to tell Allen's viewers about the new show.

Michael Medved had on P.J. O’Rourke for a really good interview. P.J. O’Rourke began writing funny things in 1960s “underground” newspapers, became editor-in-chief of National Lampoon, then spent 20 years reporting for Rolling Stone and The Atlantic Monthly as the world’s only trouble spot humorist, going to wars, riots, rebellions, and other “Holidays in Hell” in more than 40 countries. His new book The Baby Boom: How It Got That Way (And It Wasn’t My Fault) (And I’ll Never Do It Again). I got it on Audible and will check it out.

I did not know that actor Fred Dryer has a online show. He sounds good and pretty interesting.

Left-Wing Darling Pacifica Radio Is Sliding Into the Abyss

Interesting article just published. I have heard many good shows on KPFK, not recently. Roy of Hollywood and love listening to the Alan Watts tapes. I heard all of Oliver North's testimony on the hill back in the 80's, love the hell out of that. But it's all about the progressive left. It does not surprise me that it's a mess. Nice history lesson and good reporting again from the LA Weekly. A must read.

Gotta check out the new Prager University. One of the most valuable websites on the net.

[BOOK]11 Principles of a Reagan Conservative by Paul Kengor. I heard a great Thursday interview on Levin. He's been on Prager and all over the place, the guy is just great and I bet this book is too. The hardback is only $10 on Amazon.

[THUMBS DOWN]LA City Councilman Mitch Englander, a so called republican that wants to raise taxes to fix streets and sidewalks and trees. I heard two interviews with this guy and he's not to be trusted.
