One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors - Plato

[COMMENT]Wow this week listening to all this schizo Washington stuff, who could possibly make heads or tails of what's going on? I listen to one show and they say one thing and the other says something else. Being a news junkie and not really having a completely clear picture of what's going on means that most of the country doesn't. One thing I can say is that our Veterans are being abused beyond belief and I put that blame solely on the White House. The best coverage I have heard is no surprise, it's Hugh Hewitt on KRLA. He's had congressmen on about to go into the Thursday meeting at the White House. He's had Rand Paul on and all his high quality regulars with great analysis. Hugh has the best handle on this fiasco and I still can't really see it clear. It appears to me to be some bad Washington theater and at the same time some very well-intentioned Tea Party members really trying to get something done. Trying to get something done with a President that is just not willing, in his arrogant way, to move on anything. He wants what he wants and apparently that's it. Meanwhile 29 soldiers that have died this month and their families are not getting compensation and transportation to help them in their ordeal of losing a loved one. The President did that. And the closing of Memorials is just shameful. People all over the country are having their vacations ruined. After all is said and done and this ridiculous event is over, a whole lot of people will not forget what this President has done. I think it might be the worst abuse of the American people by an American President.

With this budget and deficit and huge money problems this country is having, I have a theory. My crazy theory is that we have a secret federal cash reserve like the oil reserve. I think an American President comes into office and is told that we have...say $500 trillion in a secret account and that he can use 1% of it. Why else would we be spending money like this and not caring a wit about it? I think it's a real possibility. And of course nobody can talk or admit to it, it's secret. If we have a strategic oil reserve why wouldn't we have a cash reserve?

I had to turn off the radio and finally finish my audiobook that has taken me a few months to finish. I listened to the last part of "On Writing" By [Steven King]. In the last part of the book Steven describes how he was writing this book in 1999 when he went for a walk and was hit by a van and gravely injured. Steven King describes in detail what happened to him that day and it's just astounding, painful and scary. To actually hear his voice describe this is just amazing and a little hard to listen to what he went though in his recovery. I always wondered what happened that day. It's worth the price of admission. Just an amazing book. Now to the other 5 audiobooks that are waiting in the wings!

[John Phillips] last week unveiled an app, for him and show show on KABC. My understanding is that getting an app built is very expensive. He must have a friend that helped him out, very impressive. Looks pretty cool, bravo John! John is sitting in for Geraldo Friday morning. Thanks for the tip Dave Williams!

[David Horowitz] has launched a new website called with [Ben Shapiro] as Editor in Chief.
TruthRevolt Wants To "Unmask Leftists In The Media For Who They Are, Destroy Their Credibility With The American Public, And Devastate Their Funding Bases." From the mission statement posted on its website:

[Mark Larson] sat in for [Hugh Hewitt] on Monday. This guy is a total pro and never even stammers. He's self deprecating and very funny. Wish his show was on here in LA. He does mornings at KCBQ 1170 in San Diego. He's been on the air for 35 years.

Record-setting gains for Spanish-language radio. One of these days, might be years away, All AM will go Spanish. The future for all of AM radio will be Spanish, in my opinion. With listening choices going though the roof, AM will be the bargin bin of advertising. Almost everywhere I drive these days I get huge amounts of static, I can see why AM wants to got to FM translators.

[SIRIUSXM]Looks like [Piolin] is coming to SiriusXM, too bad it's not in English even though the commercial on SiriusXM is in English, I'm confused.

This man deserves to be applauded by all of us.

[THUMBS DOWN]KFI did a news story about a TV news reporter that accidentally eats cat vomit off a studio floor. I'm pretty sure this is not a news story and is not the kind of story I care to hear. [KFI's News Director Chris Little] would call this an "Evergreen Story" Which means if you are listening to KFI in the next couple days, you will probably hear it. If I start to hear that story again, I will be changing the station :)

[PARTING SHOT]You make government and art and realize that they are, must be, both the same. You bring things to the saddest of all points, to the point where there is something to lose. Then, all at once, through all the music, through all the sensible sounds of men building, attempting, comes the Dies Irae. And what is it? What does the trumpet sound? "Up yours".
