The News Is Hazardous To Your Health!

[COMMENT]Man oh man is the news hard to listen to lately. It's seems to be almost mandatory to turn it off for a while. It has definite health consequences. But the thought of missing something drives me nuts, I guess that means I'm a news junkie...duh. But most of what's being talked about lately is such crap. The immigration bill, the NSA, horrible car wreaks, people being stabbed to death on the street, supposedly funny clips from a beauty pageant being played on air, oy vey. Staying an informed citizen is hazardous to your health, obviously. My arm gets a work out reaching for the volume knob and the preset buttons to turn to something else. Just a few years ago I could not just turn it off and go listen to something funny like [Marc Maron] or [Adam Carolla], so there's that. [Phil Hendrie] talks about his show being an alternative to news talk or political talk. I think we need more of this stuff. The big three in town, KFI, KABC, KRLA, why have you not offered [Marc Maron] or [Adam Carolla] a show? How about [Larry Miller]? Things are to such a point now that I think we need more escapism, because I gotta tell you, I can't take much more of this. Bring on the funny and save me. And just a short disclaimer, I'm not talking about singing the loanmart song or yelling into the mic...Ding Dong....Conway!

[RADIO]One of the best hosts in LA sitting in for old lawyer dude at KFI this week. [Gary Hoffman]. Seen here doing a hit on Fox. And newsman [Rob Archer] was doing Gary's normal job as the sidekick commentary. It was great because you don't hear Rob do that very often.

[John Phillips] on everyday at 9am now, look at you mannnnn. John's been like a substitute teacher filling all the holes at KABC. The 9 to noon spot is a very important spot. [Michael Jackson] was there for 30 years. Hey programming! Just give John all three hours, I mean seriously who the hell is listening to [Geraldo?] [Larry O'Connor] is sitting in for him this week for gods sake. Someone in this town should carry [Larry O'Connor's] show too, he's great....hello is this on?

[Phil Hendrie] jumps to WYD, Dial Global.
One month after leaving Talk Radio Network, Phil Hendrie has signed with Ron Hartenbaum’s WYD Media Management to oversee syndication of its nighttime show. Dial Global is managing advertising sales and satellite distribution. They’ll air “best of” broadcasts later this month, then Hendrie will return to live radio after the July Fourth holiday.

[Charlie Tuna].
In late 1967, KHJ in Los Angeles offered Charlie the 9 to noon slot where he debuted on Thanksgiving Day 1967, and Charlie has worked in the LA area ever since. There is an incredible Wikipedia page for [Charlie Tuna]. He's an LA icon in radio and that voice, you know it's him every time. He's raised huge money for hospitals with his Tunathon and has......oh nothin....just a Star on the Walk of Fame!

Posted by [Charlie Tuna] on facebook: My youngest son, Bryan, posted this on my personal facebook page, with the caption "My dad having dinner with some guy. Happy Father's Day!" Point of reference...the year was 1975:).

A guest on Coast to Coast Sunday night that I have not heard that often over the years, [Don Ecker]. He started the long running UFO Magazine twenty-years ago. He does a radio show called Dark Matters. He did an articulate and very interesting interview with [George Knapp], who is really good in his own right.

[PODCASTS]This week [Adam Carolla] talks to [Larry Miller] about how he fell and hit his head and almost died....and it was in a bar! This was 14 months ago and Larry sounds great. He tells this story about his wife outside of their house at midnight, Larry was in a coma for 10 days. She was yelling at god to heal him or take him! She talked to the doctor days later and said that it was around midnight that Larry came out of the coma, and she said I should have asked for new furniture too. I love [Larry Miller] and this is a must hear. I knew that he was doing his podcast again, but had no idea that he would be talking about this with Adam on this episode. So glad that Larry is OK, he sounds the same. His podcast that is on Adam's network is just out of this world great. On another recent show you can hear comedian
[Lisa Lampanelli].

Big get for a cool podcast called The OddCast with [Dusty Angel]....[Michael Croizer] from KFI, wow. Can not wait to hear this show. Bravo Dusty!

[MUST SEE][Louisiana Senator Elbert Guillory] (R-Opelousas) explains why he recently switched from the Democrat Party to the Republican Party. He discusses the history of the Republican Party, founded as an Abolitionist Movement in 1854. Guillory talks about how the welfare state is only a mechanism for politicians to control the black community. This brought tears to my eyes, absolutely wonderful and inspiring. [Rush] played the audio from this on his show.

[THUMBS DOWN][Dennis Prager] told a story about a patron in a restaurant that told another patron to please stop smoking an electronic cigarette. The patron that was smoking the electronic cigarette told the other patron that it was only water vapor, it was not tobacco. The patron not smoking said "Please stop, it's visually offensive".

Why Some Scientists Embrace the ‘Multiverse’
This universe’s evidence suggests a Designing Intelligence, so atheists resort to an idea with no evidence.
