You Guys Saved My Drive!

The Mark and Brian Show on 95.5 KLOS, Los Angeles is over after 25 years.

I didn't know that Mark was leaving today, I knew it was coming but didn't know it was today. I have not been following that close, but now Brian is leaving too. I didn't know why Brian would stay by himself, except for a paycheck.

News from All Access:

"But the big shocker came today, when just before 8am, THOMPSON's partner BRIAN PHELPS told listeners he broke off negotiations with CUMULUS YESTERDAY afternoon and is also leaving KLOS."

These two guys got me though many many years of driving to work. During my first marriage in the early 90's I was living in Apple Valley in the high desert off the 15. I was driving my Blue Buick Century Station Wagon everyday to Garden Grove. It was a hellish drive. I was trying to get transferred to the area but it just never happened. We moved up there to raise our son in a better, safer place. It was a 2 hour commute, if I was lucky. I would get up at 4:30am and get to work by about 7am. I left work at about 3:30pm to try to beat the traffic on the way home and in bed by 8:30. Not fun.

I looked forward to hearing these guys everyday. All the bits and the funny phone calls. It was a pleasure and it really saved my life. Thanks a million!

Brian's announcement today, audio from the show:

Mark Thompson on with Tim Conway and Doug Steckler on KFI on Friday Aug 17th. It's ten minutes in.

They will both be doing podcasts, here are their new pages.
